Our Video to GIF converter uses FFmpeg.wasm, a WebAssembly port of the popular FFmpeg media framework. This means your browser downloads the processing engine once, and then converts all your MP4, WebM, and MOV files into GIFs entirely locally.
While the processing happens locally, browsers allocate a strict amount of memory (RAM) to each tab. Video processing is heavily memory-intensive. To prevent your browser tab from crashing ("Aw, Snap!" error), we restrict files to 50MB.
Yes. Online makers force you to upload your personal videos, wait in a queue, and then they stamp a watermark on your GIF unless you pay. Our tool is instant (no upload time), 100% private, and completely free of watermarks.
